Abby and Ollie were so lucky with the timing of their wedding day, catching a perfect window of sunshine between two days of rain. As I arrived at the breathtaking Kingscote Barn in Tetbury, the sun was shining over the rolling Cotswold hills.
As a south west wedding florist, I adore working at Kingscote Barn – it’s a beautiful, rustic-chic venue surrounded by endless countryside, and the setting lends itself perfectly to soft, romantic flowers. Abby and Ollie’s pastel floral palette was delicate and timeless, full of movement and scent, ideal for their relaxed yet elegant wedding style. See more on my socials.
Bridal Bouquet
Abby’s bridal bouquet was a pastel lover’s dream. Featuring delicate blush pink roses, ivory garden stems, whispery sweet peas, the bouquet was designed to look natural, light, and just-picked – in keeping with the relaxed countryside setting. We added trailing silk ribbons in sage, which fluttered beautifully in the breeze as Abby walked down the aisle.
This bouquet was a perfect example of how romantic bridal flowers in the Cotswolds can combine elegance with a English country garden edge.
Buttonholes
Ollie and the groomsmen wore simple yet stylish pastel buttonholes to complement the overall floral theme. Buttonholes are a subtle but essential part of Cotswold wedding floristry, and these added just the right amount of colour and charm.
Ceremony Meadows
For the ceremony, we created six stunning floral meadows to frame the couple during their vows. These low, natural-style arrangements burst with soft flowers, echoing the meadows just outside the barn. Featuring larkspur, delphinium, lisianthus, and scabious, these meadows created a beautiful, immersive floral moment while allowing guests an unobstructed view of the ceremony.
If you’re looking for ceremony flowers in the Cotswolds that create impact without overpowering the space, floral meadows are a wonderful choice.
Aisle Ends
To continue the soft theme, we dressed the aisle ends with mini tied posies in small glass jars, filled with pastel stems and seasonal foliage. These were later moved to the reception space – a perfect example of how sustainable wedding flowers in Gloucestershire can be repurposed throughout the day.
These aisle flowers added gentle colour and scent, tying the whole ceremony space together and enhancing the natural beauty of the barn’s interior.
Wedding Breakfast Bud Vases
Inside the barn, long wooden tables were decorated with clusters of bud vases, each holding single stems and sprigs of foliage. The mix included cosmos, sweet peas, roses and more creating a gentle rhythm of colour and texture down the tables. Bud vases are ideal for rustic barn weddings in the Cotswolds, allowing guests to chat freely across the table while still enjoying beautiful stems.
Top Table: Repurposed Ceremony Meadows
We always aim to make wedding flowers work hard for our couples, and Abby and Ollie were keen to reuse their ceremony meadows for the top table floral display. We repositioned the meadows to sit along the front of the table, creating a lush, garden-inspired look that felt organic and opulent.
The addition of soft candlelight and fresh seasonal foliage brought everything together – a perfect reflection of a summer Cotswolds barn wedding in full bloom.
Abby and Ollie’s floral choices reflected their personalities – soft, romantic, and joyful – and it was such a pleasure to bring their vision to life. Whether you’re planning a Kingscote Barn wedding, or tying the knot anywhere in the Cotswolds countryside, flowers have the power to elevate your day, tell your story, and bring beauty to every single moment.
If you’re looking for a Cotswolds wedding florist who specialises in natural, seasonal, and romantic floral design, I’d love to hear from you.
