We started the year with an absolute bang. In the very first week of January, we headed down to the rolling hills just outside beautiful Salcombe in South Devon for the most wonderful winter wedding.
It had been one of those weeks where the weather forecast couldn’t quite make up its mind. Snow warnings, severe wind alerts, and every possible winter weather scenario had been predicted. But as if by magic, the day we arrived to set up and the wedding day itself were both beautifully clear and sunny.
Our morning began at a small church perched on the top of a hill, overlooking the stunning patchwork of South Devon countryside. With panoramic views across the rolling fields, it was the most picturesque setting to start the celebrations.
Church
Inside the church, we installed ultra-modern asymmetric floral bowls placed on elegant plinths. The designs were sculptural and textural, bringing a contemporary feel into the traditional church setting while still feeling completely at home within the space.
Once the ceremony florals were in place, we made our way to the reception venue the wonderful Flear Farm, where the celebrations continued inside a beautifully styled marquee.

Bride Bouquet
The bride’s bouquet was something truly special ultra-modern, textural, and completely aligned with the inspiration she had shared with me.
We were thrilled to source some wonderfully unique stems in the middle of January, including flowing amaranthus that created incredible movement and drama within the bouquet. Combined with other sculptural winter textures, the bouquet felt bold, contemporary and full of personality.
It’s always such a joy when a design comes together exactly like the vision a bride has imagined and this one absolutely did.

Bridesmaids
For the bridesmaids, we did something a little different.
Rather than traditional bouquets, we created buttonholes for each of the bridesmaids, which made for such a unique and modern approach to winter wedding florals.
All of the designs were created in rich burgundy tones the colour of the season which popped beautifully against the bridesmaids’ mismatched green dresses. The contrast was striking, colourful and incredibly stylish, proving that winter wedding flowers can still feel bold, playful and full of life.

Buttonholes
For the boys, we went slightly more traditional but still full of texture and interest.
Their buttonholes featured seasonal elements like thistles, winter foliage and layered textures to give depth and structure. The groom’s buttonhole was elevated with trailing amaranthus to tie his look back to the bride’s bouquet and add that little extra detail.
Wedding Breakfast Marquee
At Flear Farm, the reception took place inside a marquee where we created one of our favourite installations of the day.
In the corners beside the top table, we installed two large hanging greenery spheres. Not only did these designs cleverly cover the mechanics of the marquee structure, but they also created soft, fluffy textures using beautiful foliage such as Asparagus fern and other delicate greenery.
The result was a floating, sculptural installation that felt natural yet incredibly impactful bringing height, movement and a modern botanical feel to the space.
